Enclosure follows the history of 5 imprisoned women; Nina, Leia, Coringa, Sandra and Elisabette in a public female jail in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The documentary follows the daily life of this forgotten population and reflects human contradiction and complexity. It is a deep immersion into these women’s dreams and frustrations, while giving them a voice. Above it all, It's a movie about the human condition.

Julia Hannud e Catharina Scarpellini
Julia Hannud is a documentary director and founder of UMA FILMES, an independent film production company in São Paulo that produces experimental and documentary films. Julia directed the short film "AMOR, SÓ DE MÃE" (2018), shortlisted for the Student BAFTA 2019; the feature film "SAUDADE MUNDÃO" (2020), released at FESTin Lisboa 2019, which addresses narratives of women in prison in Brazil and is available on the digital platforms Amazon Prime, Google Play and Apple TV.
She also directed the short film "BACURANAO", produced during her documentary master's degree at EICTV in Cuba and currently in the final stages.
She is in the final stages of post-production of her next feature film, "CARCEREIRAS". The film was screened in different laboratories, such as the Goethe Institut's Latin Campus (Mexico, Chile, Spain), Nuevas Miradas (Cuba), where it received three awards, SANFIC in Chile and FULGOR LAB in Spain.
